Town optimistic for another three points after their last outing an impressive win over high flyers Deal Sports Reserves. Town welcomed the University of Kent to Sharsted Sports their previous league meeting back in November produced a 3-3 draw Faversham’s Joe Lester bagging a hat-trick that day.
Town without a game last weekend started quick out of the blocks. After only 4 minutes on the clock, Faversham Town won a corner.

Liam Druggan’s delivery found Reece Bedford who’s near post headed flick was met by captain Dan King who headed Town into an early lead

Town didn’t hold their lead for long Kent uni striker turned in the Faversham area and with the slightest of touches, Nye Griffiths caught the Uni strikers leg with the referee pointing to the spot. The Uni player slotting home to draw level.
Josh Benocci picked up a knee injury just before halftime and was replaced by George Greenway.

Town came out for the second half and within 1 minute of the restart found themselves 2-1 up. Courtesy of another Liam Druggan corner Sean Mchugh attacking the ball with a strong header to add to his wonder strike last time out.

Much like the start of the first half Town couldn’t hold on and build on their lead University hitting Town on the counter-attack with a well-taken move.

Town went behind for the first time in the game from a Town corner Kent Uni cleared the ball and it fell kindly to the Uni forward a quick counter and Town punished with a good finish.

2-4 85 mins
With 5mins left on the clock, Faversham’s hopes of a result disappeared when Uni with another quick counter-attack put the result beyond Town with their fourth goal.

Town took the lead twice but couldn’t build on it. The young Lilywhites lacked the quality they are capable of. Man of the Match Nye Griffiths worked tirelessly for his teammates.
Thanks to University of Kent played very well and deserved their win good luck to them for the rest of the season.
