Faversham Town Reserves 5 v 2 Deal Sports

Faversham Town back in league action at Sharsted Sports welcomed Deal Sports Reserves. No fixture last weekend and Town having played only three times in the past eleven weeks made today’s second-placed opponents a tough one for the young Lilywhites.
Faversham worth their point in the 1-1 draw away to then League Leaders Deal in November Captain Rhys Leader scored that day to earn Faversham a point.
Faversham started the game in confident mood taking the game to their opponents
Faversham showed there attacking intentions a shot from Liam Druggan produced good low right hand save from the Deal keeper.
Callum Leader made a great run down the left wing his cross Just eluded Reece Bedford and Town won their second corner.
Towns midfield duo of Captain Rhys Leader and Sean Mchugh where winning plenty of ball in the centre of the pitch. Another attack sore Jordan Holliday’s cross met by Liam Druggan who dragged his shot just wide of the left upright.
After Towns, good start Deal Sports showed why they sit second in the table a lapse in concentration and Deal went ahead from their first corner of the game
Town levelled the score within a minute of the restart
Druggan won the ball in the Sports half Druggan rode the first tackle and moved the ball onto Mchugh who Played in Ryan Clark who Cooley slotted past the Deal keeper for his first goal for the Lillywhites.
It didn’t take Clark long to notch his second of the game. Druggan again involved his quick thinking nicking the ball from a Deal short free kick. Druggan's cross into the box and Clark made himself some space to volley past the Deal keeper into the goal.
Faversham went into the break 2-1 ahead of a strong first-half performance from Town coming from a goal behind.
Deals early pressure at the start of the second half paid off. what can only be said as another lapse by Town allowing Sports to draw level?

This set back shook Town back to life.
Ryan Clark timed his run superbly breaking clear of the Deal defence to round the keeper and score from an acute angle to complete his hat-trick
Casey Hayes making his long awaited come back from injury contested a header in the Deal area the ball looped high and on its second bounce Sean Mchugh met it with a half-volley from a full 25 yards the ball screaming into the top left-hand corner of the goal. A goal of the season contender and well worth a look on youtube, if only to listen out for Mcughes squeal of delight as it heads towards goal and his Morris dancing feet.
Still, time for Faversham to score one more courtesy of Nye Griffiths well deserved goal from the ever-present defender. Nye racing the length of the pitch to get on the end of a good move between himself Clark and Reece Bedford To round of a superb and well-deserved win for the Town against high flyers Deal Sports.
A very good team performance from Town considering the lack of matches of late. Liam Druggan showed his quality on the ball Sean Mchugh with an absolute screamer for his first goal for Faversham man of the match goes to Ryan Clark a well taken and classy hat-trick to put Town on course for all 3 points
