“I'm up for it. I just hope the players are.”
Danny Chapman, Joint Manager
Danny - who gave his first post-match interview on FTFC TV
after the game - had not had a chance to train the squad before selecting his first team after being appointed on Thursday.
Town came back from going a goal down on 33 minutes with an equaliser by Renford Tenyue just three minutes later to go in 1-1 at half time.
Indeed, they should have been ahead at the break as Ryan Cooper missed a golden chance to take the lead from six yards out.
But a scrappy penalty given away on 58 minutes signalled a change in the balance of play and the Lilywhites fell away, conceding again in the 77th and 81st minute.
Danny said: “It was a baptism of fire for me but there were some positives to take out of the game.
“But I’m just disappointed at some of the goals we gave away – the manner in which we conceded them.
“I’m up for the challenge. I just hope the players are.”
He added: “I’m looking forward to getting on the training pitch with them.
“I wanted them to have a real go for me. The first half, I thought we were all right. Bits of the second half were all right.
“There were some positives to take out of the game. There were some decent performances by some of the players, but obviously you can’t concede goals in the manner that we do.”
