COOKING UP A VICTORY: Dave makes team-of-the-week

By Thomas Reeves

DAVE Cook has been selected in today's KentOnline team-of-the-week.

The former Hythe Town skipper marked his first Faversham Town start since November 17 with, what proved to be, the winning goal in the Lilywhites' 2-1 victory at local rivals Whitstable Town on Saturday.

Former Town man Jordan Wright had given the Oystermen the lead with a brilliant volley. But Ashley Miller then steered home Liam King's cross before Cook netted Faversham's second before the break.

On Twitter, Cook said: "There's still life in the old dog yet."

Among those also named in this week's team, with Ebbsfleet boss Garry Hill manager-of-the-week, are keeper Nathan Ashmore, Danny McNamara, Stuart Lewis and Ramsgate frontman Kane Rowland.

Town host Bostik South-East Division leaders Cray Wanderers this Saturday.
