MANAGEMENT
First team
Manager
Terry Cordice, 43: Nicknamed TC, he started his playing career with
Charlton Athletic before going non-league for a number of different sides
Gravesend and Northfleet, Barnet, Tonbridge Angels, Welling, Dover,
Folkestone, Margate, Crawley Town and Maidstone United.
First job as a manager came as a No 2 at
Sheppey United before enjoying three seasons in charge of Maidstone
United Reserves. Guided Town to runners-up spot in the Premier
Division of the British Energy Kent County League last season, making
nine appearances as a player. Says his playing days are over but no-
one believes him.
Assistant manager
Peter Holder, 51: Nicknamed Pistol, Holder Snr managed Sevenoaks
Town, Knockholt and Thames Poly before linking up with TC at
Maidstone Reserves. Played for Knockholt as well as Alma Swanley and
was still turning out for Beckenham Town in the Kent League aged 36.
Player-coachPaul Copley, 36: Nicknamed Copes, he won the Kent League with
Greenwich Borough aged 17 and went on to play Kent League football
for Cray Wanderers, Slade Green and Crockenhill before joining
Welling United. Appeared over 250 times for the Conference outfit
scoring 18 goals. Had trials for Billy Bonds at West Ham United and
Steve McClaren at Oxford United. After eight years out of the game,
he has began what he hopes will be a successful coaching career and
is also planning on making a playing comeback.
Physio
Natalie Norris, 22: Brainy blonde has letters after her name, having
graduated with a degree in sports therapy. Worked with TC and Peter
for the last three seasons and is a popular member of the team.
RESERVES
Manager
Brett Harrison, 33: Capped his first season in charge of the Reserves
by winning the Premier Division of the Canterbury and District
League. Former Faversham Town first team player, who works hard
behind the scenes at Salters Lane, is relishing a crack at the Kent
League Two this season.
Assistant managerKevin Simms, 31: Former Faversham Town full back is delighted to be
back at the club after joining Brett's backroom team this summer. Big
things are expected from him as the Reserves make the step up.
PLAYERS
Goalkeepers
Tim Holmes, 22: Town's only ever-present player in their rookie
season as a re-born club. Highly rated by Terry Cordice, the printer
is working towards becoming a firefighter.
Matt Boyce, 23: Reserve team stopper missed the end of last season
through injury but is fit again after working hard in pre-season.
Tony Diment, 35: Former Sevenoaks goalkeeper has been brought in this
summer by Peter Holder who rates him highly.
Defenders
Mark Smith, 25: A Faversham Town old boy - he played for the first
team aged 15 - the versatile defender come midfielder is the joker in
the pack. Former Leyton Orient apprentice made 22 appearances last
season and scored two goals.
Lee Whitehead, 23: Right wing-back flitted in and out of the first-
team reckoning last season. Quick and skillful, he needs to work hard
to realise his full potential in a white shirt. Was a substitute for
seven of his 13 appearances.
James Holder, 20: Town's most improved player last season by a mile,
the 6ft 5in central defender scored seven goals in 27 appearances.
Manager's joint Player of the Year with John Goodwin, he also scooped
the Players' Player gong.
Jason Mills, 19: Welding apprentice is nicknamed Shoesey because of
his size 12 feet. Has worked very hard this summer to make a first-
team spot his own. Can play all over the park including up front
where he has a keen eye for goal.
Gary Stock, 20: Versatile performer has been used largely as a
sweeper but can play in central midfield or as a wing-back. Former
Gillingham YTS lad joined from Chatham Town in the summer of 2005.
Made 25 league and cup appearances last season.
Wes Hammond, 21: Vocal central defender looks a good signing. Arrived
this summer on trial and played well in the 3-0 defeat to
Sittingbourne in the Bob Amor Memorial Cup. Incredibly, the youngster
has already had spells at Margate, Gravesend and Northfleet, Herne
Bay and Deal Town. Returning to football after a long-term hamstring
problem.
Richard Gamble, 22: Central defender or wing back missed the majority
of last season through injury and is looking to kick-start his career
with his home-town club. Former Whitstable Town man looks a great
signing.
Bradley Maguire, 27: Equally at home in defence or midfield, he made
a first-team spot his own last season after impressing in the
Reserves. Faversham lad who now lives in Canterbury made 12 league
and cup appearances last season.
Midfielders
Steve Aslett, 20: New arrival is a former England Schoolboy
international who played for Kent at under-age level in the same team
as James Holder. Unhurried on the ball, he looks a good acquisition.
Impressed chairman Bob Mason has already dubbed him Steve "Casual".
Dave Hockley, 25: Calm and assured midfielder who passes the ball
well. As a youth he was a professional at Charlton and is expected to
thrive in the Kent League. Highly rated by TC and his fellow team-
mates who've dubbed him Champagne Hockley.
Julian Beal, 29: Much is expected this season of the former
Folkestone, Canterbury City, Whitstable Town, Herne Bay and Ramsgate
midfielder. The Boughton lad has dreamed of emulating his father
Brian by playing in a successful Faversham side in the Kent League.
When Town's club captain plays well, the team plays well. The
heartbeat of the side.
Stuart Smith, 30: Was on the books at Plymouth Argyle as a kid and
announced his arrival with a brilliant hat-trick inside an hour
against Maidstone United in the summer of 2005. Needs to work hard to
realise his undoubted potential.
Ray Turner, 32: The firefighter came out of retirement after learning
of the club's revival and went on to become Reserve team Player of
the Year. Combines his playing duties with the role of youth
development officer. This job also sees him manage the club's new
Under-18 side. Key member of the staff at Salters Lane.
Stuart Dane, 31: Local lad who did very well for 45 minutes against
Cray Wanderers in pre-season only to suffer an ankle injury but remains
very much in TC's thoughts for the new season.
Dean Abrahams, 25: Rangy midfielder arrived at Salters Lane as a
triallist this summer.
Forwards
John Goodwin, 30: Local lad who scored last goal for Faversham Town
before the club went belly up in March, 2003. Then gave the club a
fairytale start to the new era by scoring the first goal at revamped
Salters Lane. Good target man who is often used in defence. Manager's
joint Player of the Year last season with James Holder.
Garry Roberts, 24: Scores goals for fun but has yet to win an
extended run in the first team at Salters Lane. Top scorer in the
Reserves last season by a mile, the carpenter is desperate to make
his mark. Has had spells with both Herne Bay and Whitstable Town.
Kris Parker, 26: West London lad, who now lives in Canterbury, works
as a PE teacher at a residential school. The ex-Ramsgate, Whitstable
and Willesden Constantine player has played in defence during pre-
season but is sure to be used as an attacker at times.
Andy Martin, 22: Joined this summer from Whistable Town where he was
Players' Player of the Year in the Reserves. Looking to be a big
success as a first-team striker. Scored Town's first goal of the pre-
season campaign in the 3-1 defeat to Lewisham Borough. Liverpool fan
works as a teaching assistant.
Wayne "Junior" Farrell, 18: Speedy right-winger has signed for
Faversham Town to try to secure first-team football. Looking to make
a big impact in senior football.
Curtis Farrell, 22: Junior's elder brother is also new to the club,
having arrived in August as a triallist. Has done enough to persuade
TC he is worth a go this season.
Dane Luchford, 21: Pacy forward scored against Town on trial for
Folkestone this summer but has made the switch to Salters Lane in
search of first-team football.
