A Salters Lane crowd of 166 were treated to a comeback that Frank Sinatra would have been proud of as Justin Luchford's Lilywhites overturned a two goal deficit to score six against Tunbridge Well to maintain their seven point lead in the Kent Premier League.
The visitors, the first side to take points from the Town this season, started brightly and stunned the home side as they took the lead after only 4 minutes, a loose ball inside the area was fired home by Benji Agana.
Damian Abel had Town's chance on 9 minutes beating two defenders before seeing his shot saved by Wells keeper Mikkel Czanner with John-Paul Collier going close from the resulting corner - Collier's header cleared off the line.
Lee Shearer saw a headed effort from a corner fly just over Czanner's crossbar whilst at the other end Town keeper Rob French did well to deny Jon Pilbeam, dropping to right hand upright to deflect the Wells striker's header.
Martin Larkin's side doubled their advantage on 23 minutes, Chris Cornell finding the back of the net from close range.
The second goal appeared to galvanise the home side as they pushed hard in an attempt to spare their blushes, both Abel and Shearer had further chances on goal as Tunbridge Wells were forced to defend - Town forcing 16 corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes.
Faversham always looked dangerous from dead ball situations and a string of 7 consecutive corners saw another well directed Shearer header cleared off the line.
Town's persistence finally paid off when Shearer headed home from a Dan Larkin corner on 43 minutes to narrow the score line at the interval.
Dane Luchford came on to replace Jack Tanner at the start of the second period with the Lilywhites keen to retain the momentum built up before the break and on 54 minutes they were back on level terms, Luchford's corner from the left headed home by Dave Botterill.
Seven minutes later and the home side were in front, yet another corner kick which was only partially cleared before Shane Hamshare powerfully headed home from six yards out.
Collier made way on 70 minutes, replaced by Buster Smissen whose first action on the pitch was to congratulate Luchford as he netted from close range for Town's fourth of the afternoon.
Town's third substitution of the afternoon saw Richard Sinden on to replace Abel, Town now with the bit well and truly between the teeth.
Botterill scored his second of the match as Town made it 5 - 2 on 76 minutes with the home side threatening to score with every attack, Botterill firing home after Luchford's free-kick was deflected.
Skipper Tom Hickman rounded off the scoring on 78 minutes, another corner from Luchford this time delivered low to the near post for Hickman to deftly guide the ball high 'Zolaesque' into the roof of Czanner's net.
Any sign of the visitors first half confidence was long gone following Town's three goal ten minute spell.
Faversham travel to face Deal Town this coming Tuesday evening at The Charles Sports Ground, kick-off at 19:45
