Town went into the break two up.
The second half began with Town immediately pressing their opponents well, and the passing was quicker and more incisive. Shortly after the break Town were three up, an excellent passing move led to a shot by Smith on the edge of the box which took a slight deflection on it's way in. Town had a good period thereafter scoring another two goals in quick succession, first the impressive Ling delivered the perfect ball for Wall's second and then Ling got his reward when an equally impressive ball from the left flank was headed in. A couple of changes were made Billy Croucher and Joe Cheesman came on for Doyle and Ellett.
