WHEN Faversham Town's Peter Clarke
handed out club ties to business pals, he did not expect it to be a
Chinese take-away.
Yet treasurer Peter's friend Dr
Graham Patience liked the gift so much that he proudly wore it for a
special dinner with contacts in Nanjing, some 200 miles from
Shanghai.
KNOT FROM ROUND HERE...Dr Graham
Patience shows off his Faversham Town tie at a dinner with Chinese
business associates in Nanjing
Accountant Peter said: "Graham
is one of several clients who I have given ties to this year and it
was a big surprise to receive the picture from him. Luckily, fans
don't have to travel that far to get their hands on a Town tie, you
can buy them at the clubhouse!"
New Town supporter Graham, managing director
of ship propeller manufacturers Stone Manganese Marine Ltd, is now
in pole position to win a new competition on the club's website, www
With the holiday season rapidly
approaching, press officer James Brown and webmaster Tony Gray want
to see just how far the Three Lions travel this summer.
James explained: "We would like
supporters to send us their holiday snaps from around the world
featuring them in club clothing, be it a Town jumper, polo shirt or
replica jersey.
"Who knows we might get someone
up Mount Everest wearing one of our benny hats, but maybe that's
being a bit ambitious. We're looking forward to looking at all the
snaps, from Blackpool to Burundi!
"All the pictures will be
featured on the website and we'll pick a winner in time for the new
season."
Tony revealed that the new-look
website had received hits from all over the world.
He said: "The website is averaging 400+ hits a day and although
the majority of visitors are UK based we are receiving regular hits
from New York, California and Brisbane. We've even had visitors from
Vietnam and Peru!"
The "Three Lions on Tour
Competition" has a first prize of a season ticket for the
2006/2007 season. Second prize is a replica jersey and third place
wins a polo shirt.
