FAVERSHAM TOWN boss Terry Cordice is
believed to be tracking Graham Taylor ahead of the re-formed club's
debut season in the Kent League.

GOOD...Graham Taylor was an instant success at Salters Lane, scoring
twice on his only appearance
Cordice has repeatedly refused to
name names when quizzed about his transfer targets but this week
dropped a massive hint that Taylor will be at pre-season training
which starts at Salters Lane on on Tuesday, 27th June.
He said: "I've been in touch
with a number of players this summer and I am really excited about
the new season.
"Again, I don't want to name
names but what I can tell you is we have several exciting new
players coming along to pre-season training including one striker
with Southern League experience. I am keeping my fingers crossed he
likes what he sees and decides to stay this time."
That would appear to suggest that
Cordice has had talks with Taylor who scored twice on his one and
only appearance for Town last season on loan from Ramsgate - a
performance that earned the Lilywhites a 2-2 draw with Cray Valley
in August
ON
THE BALL...Graham Taylor
Cordice has made no secret of his
desire to sign the tall forward he worked with at Maidstone United
on a permanent basis.
He added: "Many things can
change during pre-season. Players always like to have a look around
and see where they are most comfortable. Hopefully, we can persuade
some quality players that Faversham Town is the place to be next
season."
Cordice is also hoping to bring in a
new coach following the departure of Rob Udberg to Sittingbourne
where he has accepted the post as manager Steve Lovell's No 2.
He said: "We have someone in
mind for the post - a recently retired player with Conference
experience. Again, we are hoping that he likes what he sees at
Salters Lane during pre-season.
"That's the same for a number of
other new recruits who have expressed an interest in coming to
Faversham Town for the new season."
Cordice has seen the last of Rikki
and Ross Cable but insists that almost the entire class of 2005/2006
will be back for a rookie assault on the Kent League.
He said: "Ross and Rikki have
left and Matt Tallon has decided to find a club closer to his home
in east London but, those three aside, the rest of the lads will be
back this summer.
"The more the merrier, I say.
Anyone who thinks they are good enough to play Kent League is
welcome. If you're good enough, you'll play - simple as that. I am
buzzing, we can't wait to get started."
