Sevenoaks 1 Faversham Town 5
Justin Luchford's Lilywhites returned to winning ways as they stunned Sevenoaks with five goals in this entertaining Bulmers Cider Kent Premier League fixture at Greatness Park.
Having lost to Sevenoaks only two weeks ago Town were keen to avenge their 2 -1 home defeat and from the first whistle Faversham had the home side on the back foot.
On 24 minutes a Craig Thompson free-kick was floated into the box from the right side of play,Dane Luchford rising high to head home past 'Oaks keeper Jamie Williams.
Throughout the remainder of the first period Town dominated proceedings with Thompson and Damian Abel both working hard and looking dangerous when in possession with Dave Botterill also proving to be effective in the wide right position.
After the interval Town continued where they had left off and managed to double their lead on 49 minutes, Botterill's cross turned into his own net by defender Jon Lord.
Abel added goal number three on the hour, an impressive run down the left from Kris Richardson saw the youngster reach the byline before sending in a cross for Thompson to head down into the path of Abel who made no mistake as he netted for his 19th goal of the season.
A similar move minutes later saw Ashley Brown provide the cross with keeper Williams doing just enough to deny Thompson.
Abel made way for Chris Oyebanjo on 65 whilst Dave Soutan came on to replace Shane Hamshare minutes before the home side pulled a goal back - a well struck shot from 25 yards by Perry Spackman flew into the Town goal giving Carl Hodgson little chance.
With recent league and cup dissapointments behind them the Lilywhites played some entertaining passing football in front of a crowd of only 33.
Soutan added goal number 4 on 83 minutes, receiving the ball with his back to goal Soutan was able to turn and volley home from 10 yards after being gifted the ball by the Oaks keeper.
To round off an afternoon that I'm sure he'd rather forget Williams also gifted the visitors their fifth of the afternoon as he could only flap at Botterills corner kick to help the ball into the net on 89 minutes.
At the final whistle Town were worthy winners as they now look forward to Wednesday evening when Salters Lane plays host to Deal Town, kick-off at 19:45.
Town's Star Man - Dave Botterill, looked comfortable on the right providing crosses for three of the goals.
