A FEROCIOUS second-half volley from Faversham Town coach Paul Copley
was the highlight of this comfortable win for Larkfield at Salters
Lane.
Former Welling United defender Copley is hoping to launch a
comeback at the age of 36.
And he sent out a message to first-team boss Terry Cordice with a
blistering strike after a free-kick.
Reserve
team boss Brett Harrison fielded another experimental side,
using
more than 20 players in total as he looks to finalise his
squad
ahead of the Kent League Two opener at home to Greenwich Borough
on Saturday, 26th August (kick-off 3pm).
With Copley, first teamer Kris Parker and youth team boss Ray
Turner all appearing, Town certainly did not lack experience and they
dominate possession at times.
But their inability to react quickly enough to the second ball
proved decisive on two occasions with slack marking at a free-kick and then a
corner allowing Larkfield to go in at the break 2-0 up.
Copley's effort gave Harrison and his assistant Kevin Simms hope
but a break-away goal saw Lakfield make it 3-1 near the close.
Harrison said: "Again, me and Kevin have seen alot of players in
different positions including a couple of youth team lads.
"It's all about making sure we get it right for the start of the
season."
