BRETT HARRISON is demanding a massive
response from his Faversham Town Reserve team players after
receiving an unexpected boost in midweek.
Boss Harrison was celebrating after
Canterbury and District League Premier Division leaders The George
LOST their final game of the season to Red Arrow.
The defeat leaves the door ajar for
second-placed Town to claim the title but they must win all three of
their remaining fixtures to clinch the championship by a point.
The second chance of league glory
comes as Harrison puts the final touches to his preparations for
Town's League Challenge Trophy semi-final against Bay Wanderers at
Salters Lane on Saturday (kick-off 2.30pm).
And now he is calling for a massive
effort until the end of the season so that Town might claim not one,
but two pieces of silverware from their first season as a re-formed
club.
Harrison said: "I never expected
The George to slip up but that's football. I was coming to terms
with second place to be honest.
"However, they've left the door
ajar now and it's up to the players to do the business for me now.
"Five wins and we'll have two
trophies - I'd be happy with that! I'd like to call on all the many
Town fans to come up and cheer us on this Saturday. We value their
support - let's hope we can have a great finish to the season."
