FAVERSHAM TOWN'S Sportsman's Night will now feature former Tottenham,
Liverpool and celebrity jungle dweller Neil Ruddock.
I'm a Celebrity...Neil "Razor" Ruddock
The club's commercial manager Ray Leader has turned to "Razor"
following the sad death of Chelsea legend Peter Osgood who was
originally booked for the Alexander Centre bash on Wednesday, 26th
April.
The footballer turned TV star - who won a new army of fans on
reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" - is a popular
figure on the after-dinner speaking circuit and Ray is delighted he
has agreed to step in just a month before the big night.
Ray said: "We're all very sad to have missed out on meeting Ossie.
He was a true footballing great but Razor is a better replacement
than we could have hoped for.
"He is a very colourful character as all football fans know and
it'll be very interesting to hear his many tales from his time as a
pro. He is a TV star these days and has also worked in film but it is
his time as a top soccer player that interests me.
"I worked in the sportswear business and am very intrigued by the
fact that Swindon Town could never find a big enough pair of shorts
for Razor. They should've come to me!"
Tickets, which include a four-course dinner, are now on sale priced
£35 per head. For more details call Ray 07709 395001.
