First played second in the match of the day in the Premier Division as VCD visited Beckenham. Watched by the biggest crowd of the day of 132 the away side triumphed 3-1 to go top. Centre back Gary Cook fired the visitors into a 15th minute lead, and it stayed that way until the 65th minute when the aptly named Tommy Youle equalised. Goals from Ben Mtichell in the 75th minute and Kevin Winchcombe a minute later sealed the points for the Vickers.

At the other end of the table Sporting Bengal entered into the spirit of the season by giving Erith Town an 8-0 win. Rikki Cable hit a hat-trick as did Oldfield and there were also goals for Cleo and Marcus Cassius.

With third placed Thamesmead's game at Tunbridge Wells being the only Premier Division game to fall foul of the weather Herne Bay in fourth took full advantage to close the gap to 4 points with a 2-0 win at home to Holmesdale. Both the Brown's, Simon and Ben, found the net for Bay, for whom keeper Jack Delo was in fine form amking a number of good saves.

It was an action-packed first half at Eden Park Avenue as Erith and Belvedere took a 2-0 lead by the half hour mark through Aiden Purseglove and Nick Smith. Andy Constable then reduced the arrears for Sevenoaks two minutes before half time and Dave Armstrong equalised with almost the last kick of the half. With the game looking like a draw Smith struck for his second with just three minutes remaining to send the home supporters in the crowd of 63 home happy.

Despite losing the services of four players recently, including Neil John and Danny Beszant, Croydon managed a draw at Greenwich Borough despite going a Peter Smith goal down in the 17th minute. Appiah and Bennett gave the visitors the lead but Smith hit his second in the dying moments to save a point for the South Londoners.

Hythe Town maintained their 100% home record with a 3-0 defeat of Lordswood. Lee Winfield hit two and Dave Cook scored the third to lift them above Croydon into fifth.

The only game in Division 2 was our 2-1 defeat in the gathering dusk at Holmesdale, which leaves the table unaffected with Holmesdale sixth and Faversham seventh.

Well, that's it for anaother week. All that remains is for me to wish you all a very Happy Christmas. See you at Salters Lane on Saturday 29th as we entertain Sevenoaks in the Premier Division, kick off 3.00 p.m. Let's see if Santa will give us a late present of three points.
