Faversham Town secretary ALAN
TRENT signs off for 2005/2006 with his last Sunday Service of the
season. What on earth will he do now between Grandstand and pub
opening? That's anyone's guess but he's certainly done us proud this
season.
FOUR games were played on the last Saturday of the season and the
final issue was decided as Fleet Leisure pulled off a surprise 2-1
win at Cray Valley and so ensured Premier Division football next
season. This result consigned former Kent League club Crockenhill to
the First Division along with Lydd Town whose fate was decided a
couple of weeks ago.
Bromley Green moved up to third place
as the result of a great 4-1 win over our local rivals Norton
Sports, but this placing may change depending on the results of the
remaining games for Sheerness East & Milton Athletic.
Sheerness East recovered from their
midweek defeat by Faversham with a 3-1 win over Snodland and
Stansfeld completed their season with a 4-1 defeat of Old Roan.
The clubs replacing Lydd and
Crockenhill will be Hollands & Blair as champions of Division 1
East and Holmesdale from Division 1 West where the title race went
down to the last day of the season. Runners-up Orpington won 6-0 at
Larkfield, but Holmesdale secured the three points required with a
1-0 win at Greenways.
Well, that really is it for this
season. I hope you have enjoyed reading these round-ups as much as I
have enjoyed putting them together. Have a great summer, don't
forget to enter our competition by submitting your photo in
Faversham Town merchandise from your holiday destination and
remember to keep checking out the website for news from Faversham
Town.
